Senior IT Engineer - Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

We are looking for a Senior IT Engineer to elevate our Customer Operations E&P department in Aberdeen and help us deliver cutting-edge technology and shape the digital future for Oil and Gas, Renewables and Ocean Industries.
Work tasks and responsibilities
- Virtualization Management: Administer VMware/Citrix environments, optimize performance, and manage VM lifecycle.
- Application operations: Contribute to application operations for our VDI solutions
- System Administration: Apply updates, patches, and backups; enforce security best practices; maintain documentation.
- Technical Support: Provide 3rd-line support, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor systems, plan capacity, and implement automation for efficiency.
- Knowledge sharing: Contribute to internal knowledge sharing discussion, training sessions and documentation
Who are you?
We are looking for an experienced IT Engineer with relevant degree and hands-on professional experience from several areas within:
- Citrix
- VMware
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
- Microsoft Azure, including MCS (Machine Creation Services)
- Microsoft Windows OS technologies
- Group Policy Management
- Scripting (incl. Powershell)
Relevant certifications are an advantage.
