IT Consultant Trainee

We are looking for two junior consultants for our Database & Infrastructure department!


You will join a team with 30 amazing colleagues in Bergen, Haugesund and Oslo. We have our core strength within Oracle technology and databases, but stay updated on a broad range of technologies and frameworks to adapt to a constantly evolving technology landscape.


You will initially be part of our Operations Center, which is the link between our 1. Line support and the different groups of domain experts in Oracle, MS-SQL, Cloud Services etc. Your time will be equally split between resolving or relaying incoming cases, and spending time contributing to on-going development and improvement projects.


To help you get established in the role you will get a dedicated tech mentor as you gradually take on new challenges and progress to a more domain-specialized role. Along the way you will get plenty of chances to learn and collaborate both within the department and with the other departments in Cegals consulting unit - Application Development, Middleware, and Analytics and Infrastructure.


Who are we looking for?

As a junior consultant we don’t expect you to know everything or have lots of professional experience. What we do expect is a keen interest in learning and a motivation to become a true expert over time! You will of course have an advantage if you already know a bit about what we do:


  • Databases
  • Linux
  • MS-SQL
  • Virtualization
  • Programming (preferably shell-script, perl)
  • Cloud services
  • Network
  • Open-source technologies
  • Windows
  • Monitoring services (Nagios, check-mk, CloudControl, etc.)
  • Backup services (TSM, veeam, etc.)


Just as important as your technical skills is willingness to learn, taking ownership of your responsibilities, your service mindedness, and your ability to contribute and collaborate. Our working languages are both Norwegian and English, and we expect you to be fluent in both.
