Technical Sales Specialist (Geoscience)


Cegal is expanding to become a global leading tech powerhouse for the Energy Industry.


We are planning to expand our operations in Australia and are recruiting a new colleague in Perth to join our Geoscience Products team.


Our successful candidate will support an established team of G&G salespeople in delivering a suite of cutting-edge geophysical products and services to the Australia and New Zealand markets.


Who are you? 

  • You have a higher education in Geology or Geophysics.
  • You have a great knowledge of Petrel.
  • You understand the value chain of the oil and gas industry, especially in Exploration and Development stages.
  • You have basic knowledge of SQL, Python and Microsoft PowerBI.
  • You stay up to date on new technologies and will be our customers' advisor on these.
  • You have good communication skills and can recognize yourself in being a fuzz-fighter - you communicate in a simple and effective way so that complex concepts are also understood by the non-technical audience.
  • You have excellent collaboration skills and are highly motivated to work in teams where you get energy from sharing your knowledge with others.


Key tasks

  • Collaborate with the Sales team providing technical presentations and demonstrations of our Software Products portfolio.
  • Design technical workflows in geology, geophysics, and data management to address challenges presented by our customers.
  • Collaborate with your colleagues or other consultants so that together we can find the best solution for the customer.
  • Communicate customer requests of new software functionalities to our Software Products team.
  • Prepare technical guides and documentation on our Software Products portfolio for customers.
  • Provide in depth technical support for sales, marketing and business development engagements.
  • Support customers in extracting full value from all the Cegal Geoscience products.
