We are now seeking an experienced Data & Digitalization Advisor, based in Kuala Lumpur, to lead the data management & digitalization strategy, governance, and analytics initiatives within our Oil & Gas customers in Middle East & Asia Pacific region.

About the Role  

We are seeking an experienced Data & Digitalization Advisor to act as an advisor and lead data management & digitalization strategy, governance, and analytics initiatives within our oil and gas customers. This role is critical in transforming complex technical and operational data into actionable insights that drive efficiency, safety, and cost savings within upstream business units.

You will combine commercial awareness, operational understanding, and relationship management skills to ensure each customer engagement runs smoothly, delivers measurable outcomes, and supports long-term success together with our Sales team and Operational teams. 

Key responsibilities 

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, managing relationships and expectations across the engagement lifecycle. 

• Develop and implement enterprise data management strategies aligned with customer’s business objectives
• Lead data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, integrity, security, and compliance
• Oversee data architecture, integration, and lifecycle management across multiple systems and storage solutions relevant to Oil & Gas
• Collaborate with Data Management team, Operations, and customers to optimize data flows and reporting. Identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings, including service enhancements. 

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity policies

Who are you? 

You have a background in Oil & Gas. You thrive on building strong relationships, creating structure, and driving continuous improvement. You bring a blend of commercial understanding, data management knowledge, understanding of storage solutions, and knowledge of digital transformation initiatives. 

An ideal Data & Digitalization Advisor will bring: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• 10-15 years of experience in data management, preferably within oil and gas or energy sector

• Strong understanding of oil and gas data domains (e.g., exploration, production, reservoir data)

• Familiarity with private and public cloud solutions and industry-specific platforms
• Familiarity with AI/ML would be beneficial

• Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented mindset
