
IT Engineer - High Performance Computing (HPC)

We are expanding our 24/7 Operations hub in Malaysia – our main Asian delivery centre – and are looking for a skilled IT Engineer to elevate our HPC team. From Malaysia, you will support mission-critical IT services for both regional and international energy customers, working closely with global teams across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
As part of our the 24/7 operations team, working hours will be 11 pm - 7 am Monday – Friday, and part of the weekend shift rotation (5AM - 1PM , 9AM-5PM , 11PM-7AM). Work during public holdiays will be required.

As our IT Engineer - HPC you will:
- Operate and maintain existing HPC Environments. (Infrastructure)
- Operate and maintain existing HPC Applications.
- Review and enhance established routines and best practices.
- Automation of relevant work processes
Who you are?
To thrive in the role, we believe you share our passion for technology and learning, and that you probably are:
- Proficient in Linux OS installation, configuration, optimization and troubleshooting.
- Familiar with various Linux distributions and their idiosyncrasies, shell scripting, and Linux-based performance monitoring tools.
- Familiar with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
- Able to provision, monitor, and manage cloud resources, design cloud native HPC architectures and optimize costs.
- Have knowledge of HPC-specific tools and middleware such as job schedulers (e.g., Slurm, PBS Pro), parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS), and MPI libraries.
- Experience with Oil & Gas HPC environment will be a plus, such as tNavigator, Eclipse, InterSECT, OMEGA, Geovation,etc.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) administration and support.
- Experience managing Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.
- Proficiency in Windows OS troubleshooting, performance tuning, patch management, and security hardening.
Personal qualifications:
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to address technical challenges.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Malaysian.
Formal requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in technical-related area such as Graphic Design, Visual Design, Web Programming, Information Architecture, Computer Science or related discipline
- Extensive competence may compensate for formal education/certification:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Advanced Networking ·
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert ·
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) - Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
