People Business Partner  

 

We are looking for a People Business Partner to shape and embed global HR processes locally, adding value and driving performance and strategy forward, to join our regional team in Kuala Lumpur.

 

In this key role, you will partner with business leaders to drive performance, implement global People Experience processes locally, and support the development of a high-performing and engaged workforce across the region.

 

You bring a strong blend of strategic thinking and operational execution, with the ability to manage complexity and build trusted relationships in a matrix organization. You’re proactive, independent, and driven to continuously improve how we work — and how we grow as a company.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

HR Leadership & Business Impact

 

  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to regional leadership, providing guidance on organizational design and restructuring, leadership development, and change management.
  • Champion the Growth Dialogue process and support leaders in aligning employees to business strategy through meaningful goal setting and feedback.
  • Drive employee engagement efforts in collaboration with global teams and regional leaders.
  • Lead talent and succession planning processes, including bi-annual reviews and development plans.

 

 

Operational HR Support

 

  • Provide full life-cycle HR support in the region, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Serve as the regional SAP super-user and ensure effective localization of global HR processes.
  • Support compensation and reward activities, including annual salary reviews and bonus planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all HR-related policies and legal requirements in the region.

 

 

People Development & Culture

 

  • Identify and address training and development needs across the region.
  • Promote and embed our company values and leadership expectations through everyday interactions and key people processes.
  • Co-lead initiatives that strengthen Cegal’s culture of accountability, inclusion, and performance.

 

 

Analytics & HR Process

 

  • Conduct HR reporting and data analysis to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Lead or contribute to regional and global People Experience projects focused on process improvement and employee experience.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of senior-level HR experience, ideally within international, matrixed organizations
  • Proven success as a People Business Partner or HR leader supporting regional or global teams
  • Strong knowledge of global HR practices, as well as local labor laws and regulations
  • Experience with SAP or similar HRIS systems
  • Fluent in English and Malay
