Junior Software Developer

About the role  

We want to give you the best start to your career and will invest time in your personal development from day one. You will be closely matched with a technical mentor and project. During your onboarding, your mentor and manager will collaborate with you on your development plan. Since mentoring is such a big part of this role, it will be required that you work primarily from our offices. We are of course flexible when it comes to remote work, but the balance we’re looking for with this position is around: 80% at the office, 20% remote. 

 

Regardless of which area you will work with, you will in the beginning be included in several workshops on our best practices and technologies used for version control, team collaboration and more.  

 
As a Junior Developer / Consultant at Cegal, you will get the opportunity to: 

  • Take on the role as a system developer in one of our interdisciplinary teams. Here you will work closely with our skilled developers, architects, and your tech mentor 
  • Have regular dialogue with our customers and attend meetings to understand their challenges and opportunities 
  • Assist our customers in turning complex challenges into smart solutions, fuss fighting as we call it in Cegal 
  • Be involved throughout the development process, from idea and concept to production and delivery

To really get the most out of working with us, we are looking for you who are: 

  • Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language such as Java, C, C#, C++, JavaScript, Python, Go  
  • Well acquainted with at least one relevant software development framework, for example: SpringBoot, ReactJS, VueJS, .NET Core, Quarkus, GWT 
  • Fluent writing and speaking skills in English. Norwegian is a plus (we are a bilingual company)
