Department Manager - Energy Consulting

Now we are looking for a Department Manager to help further strengthen and evolve this growing department. An ideal new leader will combine a genuine motivation for inclusive leadership, good industry and domain expertise, and a strategic and business-oriented mindset. The role reports to the Director of Data and Energy Consulting.
About the role
As the Department Manager of Energy Consulting at Cegal, you will:

Lead a department of 30 data and digitalization consultants and be accountable for P&L of the department.

Support, mentor and enable the team leads reporting directly to you

Be forward-leaning in your approach, identifying opportunities to evolve and expand the department in line with business goals and market trends.

Ensure yearly and running business planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, with support from finance business partner and director

Align the department’s work with overall business strategies, driving both innovation and tangible business results for our clients.

Be deeply involved in customer engagements, securing profitable, high-quality solutions, and ensuring high customer satisfaction

Build positive relationships across teams and departments, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Actively engage in recruitment, talent retention, and employee satisfaction initiatives to ensure the continued growth of the department.

Contribute to sales processes by offering your strategic insights into how we can solve business challenges within the energy sector.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone with the motivation and drive to further grow and evolve a well-functioning department with a solid reputation for delivering world class data management and energy consulting services. To succeed we believe you should have solid leadership experience, a commercial mindset, domain expertise and crucially – a strong sense of accountability, integrity and compassion. Other relevant characteristics include:

Good commercial understanding, including experience with budgeting, business development and contract management

Consulting sector experience is highly beneficial

Experience leading and developing teams, capable of supporting the team leaders reporting to you

Strong domain knowledge of subsurface data management, a network from broader energy sector is an advantage

Ability to package services and products to create scalable and recurring revenue streams

Strong sense of accountability and responsibility
- Full professional fluency in Norwegian and English
