
Software Support Analyst - Geoscience

Since launching our Prizm product line, we’ve seen rapidly growing interest from customers worldwide. With our new global partnership with SLB to deliver Python Tool Pro, we are expanding our capabilities to meet the increasing demand and ensure an exceptional user experience. As part of this growth, we are growing our team of skilled experts dedicated to product support.
In this role, you’ll work closely with customers and internal teams, acting as a key link between users, development, QA, and product management. You’ll play an important part in resolving complex issues, improving product quality, and enhancing the overall user experience. You will also contribute to knowledge base content, documentation, and internal processes that help customers get the best from our products.
Your contributions:
As our Software Support Analyst, you will:
- Provide third‑line technical support for the Prizm product suite, helping resolve complex issues.
- Support inquiries for other Cegal Geoscience products when operationally required.
- Log, track, and follow up on support requests to ensure timely and high‑quality resolution.
- Work closely with teams across the organisation to investigate issues, escalating to the Prizm development team when needed.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, and Product Management to reproduce and document defects, validate fixes, and share insights on recurring issues.
- Contribute to our internal knowledge base by creating FAQs, tutorials, and documentation that improve customer onboarding and support experiences.
- Assist Sales teams by participating in technical demonstrations, workshops, and customer discussions.
- Stay up to date with product updates, new features, and software improvements, and share this knowledge with users.
Who you are?

- A background in geoscience, engineering, computer science, or another technical field.
- Experience with Petrel, including familiarity with key data types and objects such as wells, seismic cubes, surfaces, horizons, and logs.
- A good understanding of common subsurface workflows (e.g. seismic interpretation, reservoir characterization, reservoir modelling.)
- Strong proficiency in Python, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Segyio, or similar packages.
- Experience managing Python environments (venv, conda, uv) and installing/maintaining packages.
- Comfortable working with command‑line interfaces (Command Prompt, PowerShell) for environment and package management.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
Behavioural competencies:
- Able to work collaboratively across teams including Development, QA, Product Management, and Sales.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in logging, tracking, documenting, and reproducing issues.
- Customer‑focused, with an ability to communicate clearly and support users effectively.
- Proactive in staying up to date with software features, updates, and workflows.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and responding to issues in a timely and organised manner.
Bonus / Nice to have:
- Experience in data science or machine learning workflows using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit‑learn.
- Experience with parallel computing tools like Dask.
- Familiarity with Linux environments.
- Exposure to containerised or cloud deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS).
- Experience with other industry software such as Techlog, Kingdom, Studio, IP, or Geolog.
- Familiarity with GIS applications such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
